About the Company

How is WebAMP different from the thousands of other web agencies out there?

We have a long track record of solid, quality performance behind us. Many web companies seem to disappear as quickly as they popped up, but WebAMP has been building websites and working on IT projects for well over a decade, so you can count on us to be here for you long-term.

We keep up with the latest trends in media, design and technology, but we’re also aware that fads come and go. We’ll always keep your organization’s primary mission and image in mind when making any suggestions about what may work for you.

We’re genuine… real, accessible and honestly care about our clients. We also have an amazing team of designers, photographers, copywriters, developers and web strategists available for projects of varying size and scope. Just let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll create a customized plan that fits your needs.

About our Services

My cousin / brother / mother / cat says they can build a website for $50, so why should I hire a company?

“If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur!” - Red Adair

Though we aren’t completely sure about the cat, most people who make this offer don’t understand the ongoing support required for a website.

While setting up a basic site can be inexpensive, there are many factors that should be considered before jumping into any technology investment such as:

  • - Will you receive support from them for your site / application after it’s built?
  • - Do you/they have the appropriate knowledge to judge if your site is a success, or not?
  • - Can you handle the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) by yourself?
  • - What about your Social Media marketing?
  • - How will you manage platform security and server updates / upgrades?

At WebAMP we have the skills, understanding and experience to take care of all your company’s technology needs, so you can focus on business.

OK, I’m convinced. How much does a website cost?

The simple answer is… it depends.

On what? Well, are you looking at a simple informational website? Will it be multilingual? Are you incorporating any ecommerce / payment gateway functionality? Do you want any special features or functionality that will need to be custom built?

These questions and choices all play into your final cost, but don’t worry! You’ll never have any rude surprises or hidden costs while working with us. We do our best to accurately estimate projects and we always recommend a modular or phased implementation, so you can carefully plan your budget. We’ll provide an estimate for your minimum viable product (MVP) and from there we can add on as many bells and whistles as your budget allows!

How long does it take to build a website?

Once again, it depends.

We work hard to achieve your objectives within the timelines set. Depending on the type, complexity and features desired, a website can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months to complete; from the requirements gathering phase to the launch date. Based on our experience, if we believe a timeline is unrealistic, we’ll be honest about it and let you know well ahead of schedule.

If you’re in a hurry and need to get a basic website up fast, talk to us and we’ll figure something out!

I already have a website, but...

I have to pay someone every time I want to make small content changes. Can you help?

Absolutely! That’s a frustrating situation to be in and it doesn’t need to be that way. If your website was built a while ago, chances are it wasn’t built on a Content Management System (CMS). Ask us about our Static to CMS website conversion service.

We can take your static HTML website and convert it to work on a CMS platform (like WordPress). Then, you can perform basic updates yourself without having to incur any additional costs!

It’s not working as well as I would like. Can you help?

You bet! Feel free to contact us with details about what you’re experiencing. Whether it’s bugs or performance issues, we can provide you with a diagnostic assessment and recommendations on how to make your site better.

I see web hosting plans for $5/month on some websites, why is your cheapest plan $20?

Most cheap hosting providers only offer you self-managed hosting. What does that mean? That $5 per month account will require you to handle all of your own email account management, server upgrades, server crashes and website backups. Plus, a self-managed host provider won’t monitor your website for downtimes and will have very limited server resources available such as storage space, bandwidth, email accounts and databases.

For the low cost of $20/month, WebAMP will take care of all these services for you, so you can skip the learning curve and sleep better at night! If you’re interested in learning more about our managed, or self-managed, web hosting services and would like to see what we give you, vs those other companies, check out our Web Hosting section.

I run a charity and we have a very tight budget, but we’d benefit from the quality of service you offer. Do you have any special discounts or programs for registered charities?

Great question and we’re so glad you asked! At WebAMP we have a special passion for helping our local and global communities and assisting those who do good in this world! We’ve worked with several charities across the globe including the Clinton Foundation, CECI and various religious organizations.

We offer special discounts and in some cases, the opportunity for a “cheque exchange” for our services. Get in touch with us and ask us about our “Charity Starter Package”!

How do I know I’ll get what I pay for with WebAMP Managed?

At WebAMP Solutions, we have multiple, powerful servers all working together to ensure that your website always has the best possible speed and uptime. This is known as “cloud hosting”.

It all comes down to how we manage our resources. For example, two companies may offer the same amount of bandwidth, but the cheaper option packs as many clients onto a server as they can, while the other sets a responsible cap on how many clients they add per server. Setting a limit allows some spare available bandwidth, which compensates for any sudden surges in traffic and maintains consistent service. The cheaper option has no room to spare, struggles with traffic surges and often crashes or needs rebooting, slowing down everyone on the server, or knocking sites offline.

Cheap hosting can actually be very costly in the long run. WebAMP Managed is money well spent.

Can I host multiple websites with one hosting package?

Just one website per web hosting package, please.

How long does it take to set up my web hosting account?

We’ll have your new web hosting account activated within 72 hours.

When will my new domain name become active?

Your domain is registered as soon as you order, but it will take anywhere from 24-72 hours before it’s visible on the Internet.

What are the maximum upload limits for PHP and memory limits?

There is no set limit. PHP can be configured through a php.ini file and this applies to memory as well. As long as the hosting package doesn’t go beyond 5% of the servers resources there is no problem.

Is there a limit on how many emails I can send and do you set limits to help prevent the servers getting blacklisted?

We don’t have receiving limits set on our servers, but we have a sending limit set at 500 emails per hour, per email address.

What type of payments do you accept?

You’re welcome to pay by MasterCard, Visa, or through Paypal.

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes, we’ll email you an invoice for each product you purchase.

Do you host adult, warez websites, video or heavy file distribution sites?

We don’t handle hosting for adult or warez websites, nor will we host any illegal material. We don’t host video distribution sites either, as they use excessive resources and should have a private server. Please note, any website that violates these rules will be shut down and no refund will be issued.
